Haven't heard from anybody in a while - have you all forgotten me or somat? Currently residing in Olinda in the northeast of Brazil (you'll probably only see Recife on the map which is its bigger neighbour) with a crazy woman named Marluce who is determined to get me fat. Carnival starts early - yesterday was the second Vrigins parade in which the guys dress up as women. Much beer, dancing, et al. Tonight I'm gonna see something to do with drums (all I could work out) so I guess it's like samba. Write to me - I need friends....

Yo dude, sorry for the lack of response. I guess it may be down to that fact the the January blues have hit home and carried on through to Feb - with us all a bit jealous of your amazing trip. I must say though, the 16 hour bus ride with squit boy and the rowdy bunch did not seem to inspire me to try that part..... You may have heard a few bits and bobs, but let's try to get you up to speed on things - It snowed last week, causing much mayhem to everything that is to do with public transport. Pretty deep stuff too, up to 10 cms in some parts. In the weeks before that we had some rather wild winds that caused huge damage, I would say it was the worst since Michael Fish 'No Hurricane Here' moment in 1989 (right year?) I can say our house was fine, but not sure about other forum members. Owen, with his weedy frame, may have been blown completely out of the country. Football, well I am not talking football at the moment. I would imagine I will not be talking football for at least another 2 seasons now..... (You can work out the rest) Serena is starting to fund raise for her India charity trek - I am sure we will squeeze money out of most people on this forum, she can give you an update when I give her a quick kick up the harris and write something on here. As part of this, Serena and I are doing a 10K run, which should hurt a bit. (Constant ear bashing - "I'm tired, my legs hurt" - and that is just me. We hope to orgainise a music quiz - hosted by me, and maybe a midsummers night masked ball somewhere around ware - like Fanhams Hall or something. Apart from that, both of us have been practicing drinking on a regular basis, both in the city and in Flutes in Stansted. That place is starting to rock a bit... They are giving us free drinks and letting us bring in our own music now. (Won't be long before we have another Flutes like in Ware ) Ooooh, and Serena and I are going to make twits of ourselves in the Ski slopes this year. Never been before, and not really sure how my knees will hold up to it, but going to give it ago - I really, really, really, really am going to master the apres ski. Penfold has now moved into his own house in Hoddesdon - things are good with him too. Hope you both are not arguing, actually -have you argued yet? Sulked/not spoke for days? Keeping it real Matt

Yo, Don Paolo. How's tricks? Hope everything's going well for you.
Unfortunately the massive winds from a couple of weeks ago had no chance of blowing me away. I saw it coming and tied myself to my car ;D
As Matt's not talking footy (and believe me, I can understand it - the Hammers at work have all gone into hiding!), here's a quick update. Utd playing great football with lots of confidence and looking a very good bet to win the league. Chelsea looking better than they were a coupld of weeks ago, but an injury to Drogba could see them finish out of the top 4 as he's the only one scoring for them. Liverpool still in 3rd, but doing their best to thingy that up. Hopefully things'll change on that front now that they've been taken over by a couple of nice Americans that backed George W for re-election! Arsenal clinging onto 4th, but Bolton challenging strongly.
At the other end Charlton are ruining what could end up as the first time that the three lowest alphabetically (Watford, West Ham and Wigan) get relegated.
All very exciting I'm sure you'll agree.

Don't believe everything that Owen tells you...Arsenal aren't clinging on to 4th, they never cling! They are men of honour who know their football etiquete. They know what it is like to taste glory and so are giving other teams the chance to have that experience, but only temporarily. Through the art of 'beautiful football' and a young and vibrant team they are striding masterfully up the table, leaving deverstation in thier wake. Mark my words, the table will look a whole lot different by the end of the season xx

I'm sure all the usual cliches apply to the run-in of the season. Didn't I hear that MUs was a lot harder than Chelsea's? Liverpool and Aresnal are probably a bit too far away to beat both teams. As for Bolton - don't forget Reading: I get kudos for saying (well, thinking) they'd be the 'surprise' team. Course, I also thought that Colchester would get relegated with very little points and look at them! It is wierd hearing about all your weather stories cos today is the first day in ages it has rained - up here near the equator it is VERY hot and dry. Matt - if you hold off that Midsummer ball until after 14th June (when is midsummer?) I can make it (provided it doesn't clash with the wedding and stag-do). I'll have to come and see you in Flutes one day... Not heard from James in a while: he headed off elsewhere while I went to Olinda. Me time! The lady I'm staying with here is lovely, but is determined to make me fat... Other than that, not much to report except that I starred in a Brazilian advert for Ultragaz. When I return I may see my face on TV! Keep it real amigos, and keep in touch, PauloX

Hi Paulie how are things with you? We're all missing you here. I've just come back from a disasterous holiday in Cyprus where my mum was taken into hospital with gastroenteritis. I've started a new job at a home in London on a 3 month secondment as deputy manager. I'm not sure how long I'm going to be able to stick at it though as the trains the week before last were awful. The thought of being in a faraway country sounds quite appealing at the moment! Anyway hope you are well and had a lovely birthday.

Mr Horrell,
Seen as I have been very rude and not posted on here yet, i thought i had better. How are you mate, read the last blog on the home page, very very interesting, i dont think our trips could be any further apart. Musems, Art Galleries, the closest I have been to one of those establishments is driving past the Museum of Australia in Canberra!
It sounds as though you are having a wicked time, are you and Matt meeting up again soon or are you off on your own for a while?
We are just settled down in Sydney at the moment, working and living, its like being at home! Gettingup early and going to work!
Give me an email if you get a moment, it is ashleyjm@hotmail.co.uk
Speak soon mate

Hi Paul (and James, wherever you are) sorry for not saying hi more often, I hope things are going well on your adventures!
Ok, I'm going to sound like a sad net-head now but you two should really sign up to Facebook. My friends and I (including Tom) have become rather addicted to it. It's a great way to keep in touch. Hope to hear more soon, and more blogs please - I really enjoyed the last one. ;D

;D Hey girls - great to see you are still out there. Have to admit I'm getting lazy at the moment just chilling out in Olinda - not done too much to speak of, but soon life will be hectic again as we head off north and then into the Spanish-speaking countries where it will be a new language to learn.... Anyway, gotta really start cracking on my blog, which has slowed down to a halt. Luv'n'hugs, PauloXX
